alexa’s 5th birthday was one of our favorite’s yet. this was the first year that we didn’t do it at home with friends… which was kind of a reason for us to have an adult party too. this year, we decided she needed a proper party in a theme of her choice. she said she wanted a rapunzel themed party–i had been hoping we had passed the princess stage, but alas not. since she loves to dance, a dance party seemed appropriate. on recommendation from a friend we hosted a party at the downtown dance factory in tribeca–a hip hop princess and superheroes dance party–and it was a blast.
i wish i had gotten photos of us lugging all the balloons, food and treats from dumbo to tribeca. it was not pretty. thank the lord for uber xl–i really think uber changed our lives as parents in nyc. i still wish we had a car, but uber does the trick for now.
luckily, aside from what we brought, the room was totally set up when we arrived. i’m fully obsessed with the downtown dance factory now. they had four girls on for our party and they were amazing. they had us fully set up in minutes!
look closely and you can see all of the moms faces smashed up against the window peeping in! we didn’t want o make them self conscious so most of us stayed outside to watch.
after the dance party, it was time for pizza and cake. we ordered from donna bella pizza in tribeca, it was pretty delicious.
alexa’s 5th birthday was a huge hit. we had such a great time and she was so happy. it was easy and full of great memories, can’t ask for more than that!
