the past couple months have been pretty chaotic between work, travel for work and the end of school for the kids. it was a welcome break to sneak away to colorado for the past week! we started off the trip with a visit to telluride!
telluride is to nate, what paris is to me–his “happy place.” he lived there years ago and he and i have visited many times together… i think it was pretty amazing for him to be able to come back for a visit with the kids.
our journey to telluride was quite the ordeal… flight landed at 8pm, drove from 10pm to 2am to grand junction, woke up at 8am, got a flat on the side of the road and finally made it to telluride by 2pm. we stayed with one of my dearest girlfriends, katie, who lives there with her husband and two girls.
besides being in the glorious town of telluride and visiting one of my close friends, it was pretty awesome to be there for the fourth of july. the telluride fourth of july festival celebration is pretty fantastic. it’s pretty popular so we were lucky to be in with the locals who had the inside scoop on the best set up for the parade.
not sure who was more excited here… alexa or nate. :)
don’t mind me and my double sunnies and chunky baby–i’m in mountain heaven.
nate took the kids for a short little mountain ride while i hung back at the house with rowie. definitely a bit of an upgrade from riding around the park in brooklyn!
our stay in telluride was a bit shorter than we would have liked, but we were pretty happy we went nonetheless. next up, back to fort collins for a family reunion with nate’s family!
