feed projects: the mini bag

December 7, 2016

i’m sure most of you have heard about FEED projects, but if not, check them out… especially worthwhile for gifting this time of year. it was started by lauren bush lauren with the simple idea of creating products that engage people in the fight against hunger. every product is stamped with the number of meals that are provided with its purchase–pretty great.

nate and i are big fans of FEED so we were especially thrilled to be a part of the launch of their mini feed bag for kids… as pictured on alexa in the photos within this post. be sure to check out the interview they did with us on the feed site… we think its pretty sweet.  (also, a cool side note is that nate shoots for them quite a bit, check out some of his work here.) #lifehacks for a good cause

November 5, 2016

it seems like everyone has a start up these days… all these new brands, sites and companies popping up left and right. some are great, some die out quickly. i think it is worth noting the ones that took something simple that seemed to go unnoticed by technological change, and decided to improve upon it.

some of my favorite examples–that have changed my life in small and high-impact ways–are:

warby parker with eyeware
uber with transportation (enter udu3 for a free ride!)
harrys for men’s razors
netflix with tv series (our favorites being The Fall and Love)
blue apron with weekly meal planning
nurture life for weekly meal planning for kids lunches
parasol diapers (for a chic, soft and natural subscription solution)
rockets of awesome (easing my school clothing shopping worries all in a couple clicks)

i wanted to take a moment to share about this new vitamin company called care/of
it’s about time someone considered the vitamin industry! care/of is an online brand with an app/website rooted in refreshing honesty. the vitamins are made with better ingredients, & personalized for you.

as part of their launch they are partnering with the GOOD+ Foundation. for every 20 people on their waitlist, they will distribute a month of our prenatal vitamins to a woman in need with the help of GOOD+ Foundation.

prenatal vitamins are essential for a healthy pregnancy; taking folic acid can decrease the chance of neural tube defects in newborns by up to 72%. over a million pregnant women in the U.S. don’t take prenatals, in part due to cost–their goal is to fix that.

check them out! i’ve signed up and i encourage you to as well.

art for a special cause

October 16, 2016

i’ve shared about plum print before–the super easy way to archive your kids artwork–but, now i wanted to share about plum print marketplace… specifically because alexa’s art is on display and for sale! the plum print marketplace enables artists, of all ages, to sell products featuring their unique creations. artists receive royalties to benefit a favorite charity, an education fund, a growing career, or even a toy wish list! sales from alexa’s art are benefiting the good+ foundation (formally baby buggy). check out her artwork below–and shop for a good cause! so proud of my little artist!

super saturday

August 7, 2016

this summer has been my absolute favorite. we have been lucky enough to spend a bunch of weekends out in the hamptons visiting friends. while a lot of new yorkers spend their summers out in the hamptons or the new jersey shore, it is a novelty to use and these summer has provided so many opportunities… i have to say, it is pretty magical.

last weekend (and this weekend!) we visited our friends rebecca and gavin and we spent saturday afternoon at a pretty epic hamptons summer event… super saturday.

this saturday: shopping + books at joe fresh!

October 20, 2015

this saturday the kids and i are doing some pre-holiday shopping with some added fun courtesy of  joe fresh and harper collins books! the author of the biscuit book series, alyssa satin capucilli, will be reading some of her favorite stories to the kids in stores. the event is in collaboration with an amazing non-profit, library for all, they are committed to unlocking knowledge and opportunities for children in developing countries with limited access to educational materials. we are avid readers in our family so it is definitely a cause i am excited to support.

if you are in nyc this weekend you should stop by this saturday from 1 to 3pm (in soho) and shop with us at joe fresh! (receive 25% off regular priced items!)

as a little teaser, i thought i would post some looks i plan to pick up when we are at the store–for alexa, hayden AND for the baby!!
